Entertainment

Sort by:

While most hotels provide entertainment for guest, particularly during the high season, visitors are made welcome at the bars, clubs, and cinemas in and around St. George's. The island offers a wide variety of entertainment and visitors are encouraged to take full advantage; such as a visit to Gouyave Fish Friday which takes place in St.Dominic and St. Francis Streets (close to the entrance of town) in Gouyave on Friday evenings from 6 P.M. and continuing late into the night, featuring dancing and steel pan music. Seafood dishes are prepared to perfection by well trained and neatly dressed vendors, before your eyes, in a number of mouth-watering ways. The festival is the fastest growing in the Caribbean, catering to as many as two thousands persons from varied social standings, both local and visitors to the island, on any given evening.

You can also visit the Mt. Moritz Breakfast usually carded for the last Sunday in every month. For EC$10 you can get a typical Grenadian Breakfast of locally produced food items and a drink of coffee, cocoa, tea or fresh local juice. The event starts at 6 A.M. and continues well into the afternoon. In addition to breakfast persons opting to make a day of it can purchase other local dishes from lunch time onward.

A visit to St. Mark's on the last Saturday in every month brings you their "Sunset City Food Fest" , which has been organized after the passage of Hurricane Ivan on September 7th 2004, to help improve the living conditions of the people of Victoria and also to bring the community together. Vendors at the Fest offer Grenadian cuisine using local ingredients. Some of the dishes prepared are: bakes, Farine, Jacks and other fish, Grenadian Oil Down, rotis, soups, lambie and Tania Log.

If you are looking for a variety of entertainment and an opportunity to get involved in community living, then Grenada is the best place to plan your vacation.
