Fort George is located in the middle of the capital, St.George's, and provides a picturesque backdrop to any photograph of the Carenage. It's well worth a closer look, both to soak up its vital role in Grenada's ancient and recent history, and also for the vistas it offers of St. George's, Morne Jaloux and Grand Anse.
Fort Fredrick is perched high up on Richmond Hill, one can clearly see for miles in all directions, allowing one to drink in the wonderful sights of the town of St. George's, Grand Anse and Point Saline to name a few, and if you're feeling hot you'll appreciate the breeze which blows continually around its elevated position.
Fort Frederick and its lesser neighbour Fort Matthew, are steeped in their own brand of history, and have been partially restored in order to preserve them for future generations.
Old Fort, overlooking the town of St.George's on one side and the National Satdium on the other, is located in a more residential area and not visited as often as the other forts, however, it too has its place in the island's history, and offers breathe taking views.
